M.A. Hindi is designed for students who possess a Bachelor's degree in any subject or discipline. Students who have completed a four-year undergraduate program and hold an Honors degree at the graduation level are eligible for direct admission to the third semester.

- The minimum passing marks shall be 40% separately in assignments and the Term-End Examination for each course. A learner must also secure an overall minimum of 40% marks to successfully complete the program.
- One assignment carrying a maximum of 30 marks for each course and one Term-End Examination carrying a maximum of 70 marks for each course are conducted at the end of each semester.
