I. BLIS degree from any recognized university or any other qualifications considered equivalent to BLIS such as P.G. Diploma in Library Science/Librarianship from a recognized university.
II. Professional work experience will carry some weightage in consideration of candidature for admission along with merit. ‘Professional work experience’ would however, mean doing professional work in recognized library or information unit

Passing (for each other)
- Every candidate must secure 40% marks in each head of passing.
- For the project work/dissertation (Course MLIP-002), a candidate has to secure a minimum of 50% to pass in this course.
- The examination relating to MLIS Degree has two components:
(1) Continuous evaluation 30% (Based on Assignment).
(2) Term-end examination 70%
Mater of library and information science degree awardee only after completion of the one year successfully and Internship of one month.
